Communities in Bloom - Hatzic Elementary received recognition at the July 15th Awards night for our Centennial Garden and commitment to recycling and composting. We were presented with a framed certificate to hang in the school.
City TV - Breakfast Telelvision filmed our school on May 13th. Our school won the be there for schools grant of $1000 to plant a centennial garden. To help connect our students to life 100 years ago, they will be planting vegetables and harvesting their own food while fostering a respect for the earth and learning about the environment. Be There Schools - Hatzic Elementary. As part of BT's BE There For Schools program, Dawn Chubai went to Hatzic Elementary school to learn about our programs taken by the talented children, and presented us with a cheque for $1000.

SHAW TV - Our students were featured on Vancouver SHAW TV for winning 60 minutes kids club last year. Our Bike Club led by teacher Mr. Roberts was a focus of the program as well as many of the activities we have for students to keep active.

Hatzic Elementary is a kindergarten to grade 6 public school of 300 students situated close to the North bank of the Fraser River in the District of Mission about 80 km east of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Hatzic Elementary is situated in a quiet, established neighbourhood. Opened in 1911, it is one of the ‘oldest’ schools in Mission steeped in history and tradition. Our qualified and caring staff are committed to nurturing and supporting each student.

Our school is participating in Communities in Bloom. We have just planted in our new garden boxes and are looking for a volunteer to help with watering over the summer. Please contact the office if you would like to help.
