Library Policies and Procedures

Borrowing:

All divisions visit the library for book exchange at least once per week. The library offers book exchange from Monday to Friday before and after school as well as at recess and lunch. If there is no one in the library, students are asked to use the manual check out located on the corner of the circulation desk. Books may be returned using the book return slot located on the circulation desk or on the library front door.

According to grade, students may take out a maximum number of books:

Kindergarten - 1 book
Gr. 1, 2, 3 - 2 books
Gr. 4 to 7 - 2 books

Once the maximum number of books has been reached, students will not be able to borrow any more books until they return some of the books they have on loan.

Exceptions are made when a student is working on a research project for which they require extra resources.

Overdue:

Students are expected to return books by the due date (2 weeks after they are borrowed).

The Library has many wonderful books. Remember when you check out a book you are only borrowing it. Please remember to bring it back in the same condition as when you borrowed it. Your fellow classmates will appreciate your care.

Should your child lose a library book that he/she has signed out, you will receive notification of this by the Teacher-Librarian.
